POSITION:
Work, Learn & Grow (WLG) Monitor Supervisor (approximately 3 positions)
Division of Specialized Instruction and Student Support (DSISS), Special Education Office Jonathan Santiago
LOCATION:
Assignments are located throughout the five boroughs.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must be a NYCDOE Licensed School Building or School District Leader
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Applicant must be rated satisfactory, effective, or highly effective for the past five years
Minimum six years' experience in middle or high school
Experience in career preparation, exploration, Work-Based Learning and/or Project-Based Learning
Must have knowledge of the New York State Career Development and Occupational Studies Commencement (CDOS) Standards
Familiar with Academic and Personal Behaviors
Familiar with the requirements to obtain the CDOS or SACC credential
Ability to implement and teach a virtual or blended Work-Based Learning curriculum
Three years minimum experience in job training or pre-job skills development of secondary level students with disabilities
Ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated qualities of organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and conduct Level III vocational assessments of Work, Learn & Grow (WLG) applicants ages 16 and older.
Oversee and conduct weekly Provider-led work-based learning training and guidance sessions to students in an in-person and/or remote environment based on DYCD approved methods during the learning component of WLG.
May coordinate participants' attendance collection, review, and reconciliation with CUNY, if required.
Oversee and, as needed, conduct pre-assessments of each approved worksite prior to the start date of the internship component of the WLG program to ensure its safety and suitability as a workplace for participants.
Review and approve/disapprove pre-assessments of each approved worksite prior to the start date of the program to ensure its safety and suitability as a workplace for participants.
Oversee delivery of remote work-based learning training based on DYCD-approved methods.
Review and sign program documents delivered to worksites and participants as required.
Visits each worksite at least once to review to support the worksite partners and students.
Meet with worksite monitors regularly to assess their progress, and that of the participants and worksite. Provide guidance and support to ensure they can be successful in their role.
Review and approve weekly assessments based on the program's guidelines and ensure that they are entered into YEPS weekly.
Review and approve timesheets and ensure that they are entered into YEPS accurately.
Review and approve/disapprove adjustment requests and entries into YEPS.
Review and respond to any WLG communication regularly to ensure that issues that arise are addressed promptly.
Immediately notify the borough program lead of any incident with a participant or worksite. In the absence of the borough lead, notify the TCAC co-leads.
Ensure that all summaries, reports, assessments and other work are submitted and reviewed and entered into YEPS, as required, by the end of each work week.
Provide a means for monitors, staff, participants, and worksites to make contact by phone and email.
Be available for the entire shift of the participants.
In the absence of a monitor, assign or assume their duties to ensure that all site monitoring obligations are met.
Other related tasks as may be required.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Commencing October 7, 2024; ending April 25, 2025
Monday through Friday
Saturday and Sunday: TBD by Program Supervisor
Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
