POSITION:

Office of New Teacher Induction NYC Men Teach Professional Development Facilitator- Teachers

LOCATION:

New York City Department of Education, various locations citywide

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYC DOE Licensed and Appointed Teachers

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• NYC DOE Licensed and Appointed Teachers

• Preference will be given to teachers from schools participating in NYC Men Teach program

• Knowledge of high school graduation requirements

• Knowledge of state and city academic policy First or second year teacher in the DOE

• Can identify with the experience of male educators of color

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively on projects

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of licensed pedagogical personnel, once selected participants agree to:

• Actively participate in NYC Men Teach workshops

• Create curricula and resources for members of the NYC Men Teach community; test and pilot units

• Co-plan/organize school-based events to support the NYC Men Teach Program

• Respond in a timely manner (within 48 hours) to participant and staff inquiries and requests Communicate with Mentors at a minimum of two-times per month

WORK SCHEDULE:

July 2024 - Fall 2025 and beyond (approximately 40 hours) Additional hours granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
