POSITION:

Occupational Safety and Health Administration Training Instructor (Approximately 5 positions)

LOCATION:

Adult Education sites throughout the five boroughs

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYCDOE Licensed and Appointed Teachers with a DOE license

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Familiarity with non-traditional academic settings

• Demonstrate knowledge and successful practice of varied instructional approaches including differentiated teaching strategies and group instruction

• Teachers with a Satisfactory or Overall Developing or higher rating in current Department of Education position for the past 2 years in which ratings are provided (does not apply to new teachers).

• Preference will be given to TABE certified staff or staff willing to become certified prior to the beginning of the activity.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must attend mandatory Professional Development prior to the first day of classes

• Provide OSHA instruction as per the OSHA guidelines at both onsite Adult Learning Centers as well as off-site Adult Education field sites

• Work under the direct supervision of the school site supervisor

• Assist administrators, teachers, and/or other school-based staff, as required

• Complete and submit Adult Education paperwork in a timely manner

• Facilitate student tutoring activities

• Must participate in a minimum of 14 hours of Adult Education training by the NYC RAEN or NYC Department of Education on non-working evenings ( to be reimbursed at the per session rate)

WORK SCHEDULE:

September 5, 2024- June 30, 2025 (up to maximum 200 hours)

Monday- Saturday, (Morning, Afternoon and Evening) 5 days| 4 days| 3 days | 2 days | 1Day

• Hours granted on a needed basis and times may vary based on site availability

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
