POSITION:

SUPERVISOR

CHILD WELFARE TRAINER - APPROXIMATE 5 Positions

OFFICE OF SAFETY AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT (OSYD)

LOCATION:

In person at various NYCDOE locations

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

New York City Department of Education licensed and appointed SUPERVISOR with experience training adults and students on the fundamentals of Human Trafficking, Trauma Informed Practices, Motivational Interviewing or Child Welfare.

Open to current and/or retired candidates meeting the licensing requirements.

Satisfactory ratings for the previous 3 years.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with other pedagogical, clinical, support and administrative staff.

Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogical best practices.

Demonstrated ability to provide professional development workshops to teachers, guidance counselors, administrators, other school support staff, parents, and students.

Demonstrated prior training and professional development in sex and labor trafficking, mandated reporting in NYS, current issues relating to child welfare and human trafficking (priority given to candidates trained by UNITAS and/or The National Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance Center or Office on Trafficking in Persons).

Excellent facilitation, written and verbal communication skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work collaboratively with members of the OSYD training team to plan and provide instruction to cohorts of teachers, guidance counselors, other school support staff, students, and parents, after school, evenings, weekends and/or summer sessions.

Provide instruction, guidance and expertise to teachers, guidance counselors and other school support staff.

WORK SCHEDULE:

July 2024 through August 2024

Monday

• Friday

8:00am

• 4:00pm

Weekends as needed (in case of emergency)

(Maximum 200 hours)

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
