POSITION:

SUPERVISOR - Safety and Security

Up to 10 positions - subject to budget availability

Office of Safety and Prevention Partnerships

LOCATION:

VARIOUS NYCDOE LOCATION

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

New York City Department of Education Licensed and appointed Education Administrator with satisfactory service as a Supervisor for the previous 3 years

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Knowledge and familiarity with NYCDOE policies and procedures regarding safety and security including Chancellor's Regulations, School Safety Plans (SSPs), NYC Department of Education Discipline Code.

Satisfactory record of attendance and punctuality.

Proficient with ATS, SOHO and OORS systems.

Excellent communications and organizational skills.

Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Familiarity with New York State Education regulations and Chancellor's regulations.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills and able to think strategically.

Familiarity with Best Practices Standards for Safety and Security and Emergency Management and Building Response Teams and General Response Protocols.

Strong leadership skills and experience managing projects.

Able to communicate effectively with two-way radios that are used with school frequencies.

Experience working in the Office of Safety and Youth Development is preferred.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate professional development workshops that occur after school and/or on weekends.

Provide safety and security support for meetings, conferences and public hearings held outside regular work hours and/or on weekends.

Work on special projects as needed outside regular work hours and/or weekends.

WORK SCHEDULE:

July 1, 2024 - August 31, 2024

Evenings and Weekends as needed.

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
