PRIMARY FUNCTION: As an SCCPSS District Lead Roofer you will install, maintain, inspect, and repair Commercial, Industrial and residential roof systems at the proper time in the construction process. REPORTS TO: Director, Maintenance (thru the Supervisor) SALARY SCHEDULE: G-11 WORK DAYS: 250 REQUIREMENTS: 1. Education Level: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and 10 years of roofing experience Preferred: Associate Degree in Construction or roofing; Experience, Skill, and Certification: Design, troubleshoot, repair, modify all types of commercial, industrial, and residential roofs.   • Tab Shingle Architectural Shingle Metal Single Ply KEE Single Ply PVC Single Ply TPO Sprayed Urethane Foam Tile / Wood / Shingle Roofs Ability to draw diagrams and schematics to clarify design details and functional criteria of roof systems Ability to read and understand instructions, technical manuals, and have a base knowledge of all roofs systems Discuss layout and installation procedures and problems with contractors Ability to instruct and supervise other personnel MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of all Construction and roofing codes, and safe use of power tools and trade hand tools Must demonstrate proficiency in area of knowledge of commercial and residential roofs Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals Operating knowledge of roof repair and maintenance equipment and efficient use of materials and tools required for hirebility to instruct and supervise other personnel Operating knowledge of roof repair and maintenance equipment and efficient use of materials and tools required for hire Preferred:

    State License: Contactors License ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assist with construction and remodel plan reviews of upcoming projects Ability to use the SchoolDude or comparable work order system Ability to verify work has been complete and work orders are closed out properly Ability to estimate, layout, and provide material selection for projects Ability to works with outside vendors, engineers, contractors, and consultants on projects commercial and residential roof systems on all facilities Support the Director of Maintenance with Department goals and visions and help implement them Provide excellent customer service to create a comfortable and safe environment Perform regular inspections to identify roof and gutter defects and replacements Maintain inventory control of roofing material(s) and tools Maintain documentations of roof installation and maintenance procedures Oversee inspections for contractor performed work in renovations and new construction projects Responsible for identifying, estimating, and prioritizing trade related improvements for district properties Ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to frequently changes in priorities Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions Personal computer and keyboarding skills Ability to perform math computations needed in the roofing trade Ability and willingness to be on call and/or respond to calls Ability to promote and follow all Board of Education policies as well as building and department procedures Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for roofing projects Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator Must have a valid Ga driver's license Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

    Must be able to work from a ladder Any other duties as assigned. Ability to work overtime when asked. Must pass a drug test and background check TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Incumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade 11 of the classified hourly pay scale and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources.

    This position is considered to be "essential personnel, critical staff" when there is an event that creates security challenges or disruptions to district operations. This position may be required to work during identified periods of an emergency as defined in Policy Regulation GBRB-R, Title: Professional Personnel Time Schedules.

    The work calendar will be 250 days. Grade 11, Non-exempt, Public School or TRS Retirement System Eligibility NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES A responsibility is considered to be "non-essential" (for the purposes of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act) if: it is shared between multiple incumbents in the job; or it could be performed by an employee in another job within the workgroup.
