POSITION:

Best Practices in Special Education Professional Learning Series Supervisor (maximum of 2)

Office of Citywide Transfer High Schools

Lead Cohort participants in engaging in weekly Professional Learning on supporting Special Education students, from planning through implementation and assessment. We will engage in dialogue and share resources to promote pedagogy that supports all students with disabilities.

LOCATION:

Remote professional learning sessions via Microsoft Teams

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

New York City licensed and appointed Supervisor

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Applicants must work with be Special Education supervisors at the district level

• Ability to effectively and appropriately interface with students and colleagues.

• Satisfactory performance for the past two years.

• Willingness to create and share resources for teaching and learning

• No substantiated allegations of misconduct stemming from an OEO, OSI or SCI investigation or any misconduct that has led to the filing of disciplinary charges while covered by Advance (does not preclude administrators with less than three years of service).

• Seniority will be considered for selection.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the District Superintendent team, the Teacher will:

• Attend weekly Professional Learning Sessions via Teams

• Plan and implement curriculum that supports teachers of students with disabilities

• Provide resources to teachers

• Other duties and responsibilities, as required by the program in accordance with the CSA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Up to 10 hours to be completed after regularly scheduled workdays on zoom.

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
