Title: Switchboard Operator

Summary:
Responsible for appropriately routing incoming calls, taking messages, and forwarding to designated individuals in a timely manner. Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, takes dictation, and otherwise relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative and business detail by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Answer all incoming calls in a professional, prompt and courteous manner.Obtain detailed and pertinent information for messages to be returned.Record information accurately and legibly.Triage calls appropriately.Various typing assignments according to need.Ensure closing and opening of the switchboard at the start and end of the day. Direct visitors and guests to the appropriate/designated areas as needed.

Conducts reminders calls to patients and assists patients by verifying appointments. Inform patients to bring identification, insurance card, and co-payment if required and to arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time. Assists with registration and scheduling as needed.

Education: High school diploma required
