Providence is calling a Switchboard Operator (Full Time, Day Shift) to Providence ElderPlace in Tukwila, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

The Switchboard Operator is the first contact with Providence Elderplace and is responsible for dealing effectively and courteously with callers, patients and fellow employees. This position provides prompt and courteous coverage of telephones during normal business hours. The function of the position actively incorporates the Mission and Vision of Providence Health Systems. In addition, may perform a variety of office, clerical and support tasks.

In this position you will:

  • Proactively informs clinic leadership of all operational issues as they arise.

  • Answer high volume of incoming calls and direct calls appropriately.

  • Provides directions to all clinic locations.

  • Advises answering service of physician call and vacation schedule.

  • As first contact with Providence Elderplace, interacts effectively and courteously with callers, patients and fellow employees.

  • Always uses a warm and caring tone of voice while attempting to direct patients and referring physician needs met in an expedient manner, ensuring they know they are our number one priority.

  • Answers incoming lines in three rings using a pleasant and helpful manner.

  • Routes all Incoming messages for doctors, nurses and staff appropriately.

  • Assists with jobs that can be completed at the phone (e.g., mailing letters, statements, demographics).

  • Works as one interchangeable unit with other phone operators/schedulers.

  • Treats all others with respect and demonstrates excellence, justice, stewardship and compassion in daily work and relationships with others.

  • Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

  • Successfully completes required educational modules in the required time frames and participates in fire drills and emergency exercises.

  • Considers individual needs in communication with others, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects for all ages.

  • Supports patient rights and the organization's code of ethical behavior.

  • Demonstrates service excellence and positive interpersonal relations in dealing with others, including patients/families/members, employees, managers, medical staff, volunteers and community members, so that productivity and positive relations are maximized.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience with a multi-line phone system

  • 6 months experience working in a medical setting

Job Description Summary The NOC Operator makes important technical and process contributions to the 24x7 Network Operations Center team. Through capable use of tools, knowledge of our systems and applications, and adherence to our Incident Management process, the NOC Operator seeks to maximize service uptime and increase our team's incident resolution rate. The NOC Operator provides clear and accurate communication to all stakeholders, and works with engineers, service and product owners, and IT, business, and process managers in all phases of incident response. The ideal candidate will seek adherence to established process, as well as opportunities to improve processes and team capabilities. Resourcefulness and the ability to deal with ambiguity are critical qualities. The NOC Operator must display skill in understanding and troubleshooting ecommerce services, and the underlying infrastructure. NOC Operator Duties: * This will be a Night Shift position * 3 nights one week, 4 nights the next, then back to 3, etc. * Monitor and support our production systems and applications in a fast-paced 24x7 environment * Detect impairments via monitoring, incoming phone calls, emails, instant messages, and walk-ups * Perform quick and accurate event triage, and implement our incident response processes and protocols * Perform first-tier troubleshooting on all systems (Windows, Linux, MSSQL, Cisco, AWS.) * Implement known fixes and workarounds, as documented in our Knowledge Base and wikis * Perform clear and accurate ticket documentation * Accurately escalate incidents at the appropriate level of urgency * Facilitate major incident response (phone bridges, chat rooms, plus additional tasks as requested by incident managers) * Exhibit a high level of dedication and performance.
