Job Description Summary

A Switchboad/PBX Operator is responsible to receive, manage, and relay incoming and outgoing calls for the medical staff, patients, employees and other clients in a timely, professional and polite manner. To provide internal communication assistance as needed via paging system.

Assists in maintanining and responding correctly to current Emergency Code procedures. Updated and maintains reports and communication information such as on-call information for physician's and ancillary departments. He/she is fully trained and understanding of MUSC Health Patient Financial Services policies and procedures and the adminstration of those according to established guidelines. Routine evaluation of performance results in a 95% to 100% success rate to meet expectations and 98% greater to exceed.

Additional Job Description

Education: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least 2 years or experience in a hospital or medically related environment. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards.
