Acts as a technical contributor within and occasionally outside his or her immediate team. Responsible for staying current in technical theory, application, and operational discipline. Takes on technical and project-related efforts, providing communication as directed. The Technician has a solid understanding of theory and application related to project management, core networks, transport, signaling and interface protocols, disaster recovery planning and response, data services, and location-based services.   • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • 2 years' experience in switch operations and maintenance, with a proven track record of success

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Two-year vocational degree in a technical discipline

  • Technical support: Provides technical support within and occasionally outside immediate team. Provides technical support in network performance initiatives, outage resolution and works to identify day-to-day improvement opportunities.

  • Project management: Takes on smaller projects or portions of key projects / initiatives, providing accurate status and progress updates as requested.

  • Operations: Identifies and shares potential process improvements and recommends them to Senior Technicians and / or management for consideration. Provides input on process improvements related to maintenance and repair activities. Assists in creation of job aids, scopes of work, method / statement of procedure, and helpful tools working closely with a Senior Technician.

  • Continuous learning: Enrolls in and completes training requirements to stay current on existing and new systems and products, to grow skills, and to expand proficiency in company values and organizational requirements.

The patients to be served include pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Is aware of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of department or hospital administrative staff. * Purposefully conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the hospital's commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity. * Performs Respiratory Care procedures as required: * Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BCLS). * CPAP Therapy. * Medical gas administration/oxygen therapy. * Administration of inhaled medications using HHN, MDI, AEROGEN * Aerosol/humidification therapy including Vapotherm * Airway clearance techniques including chest physical therapy, oscillatory pep therapy, and cough techniques. * Incentive spirometry. * Pulse oximetry. * Apnea monitoring. * Performs patient care functions as required: * Performs patient assessment prior to and following each therapeutic procedure. * Notifies department Supervisor or Charge Therapist of changes to therapy plan of care or changes in patient's needs. * Maintains patient comfort, supports human functions, and responses, and maintains an environment conducive to well-being. * Implements Respiratory Care procedures according to departmental standards, hospital protocol and procedures, and selected departmental competencies. * Successfully completes the hospital and department orientation, and the annual hospital and department specific competencies. * Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills with other health care team members. * Verbal communication is clear and precise. * Written communication is legible, if handwritten, and done in a timely manner. * Computer documentation is done in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. * Demonstrates flexibility and self-direction in meeting patient and unit needs by responding as a team player. * Implements measures to promote a safe environment for the patient/family. * As directed by departmental Supervisor or Charge Therapist, provides educational opportunities to patients, families, and other health care associates based on adult teaching-learning concepts. * Assists in creating a positive work environment that promotes productivity. * Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and development. * Continually maintains and strives to enhance personal technical and clinical competence in all job related duties. * Specialty certifications encouraged. * Participates in appropriate professional organizations. * Participates in mandatory education and unit staff meetings. * Participates on departmental committees and performance improvement activities. * Complies with established infection control, risk management, and patient confidentiality policies and procedures. * Performs other duties as deemed necessary to meet the hospital's mission and vision Qualifications PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS Education * The Respiratory Technician must have completed an accredited Respiratory Technician or Therapist program, or the Technician may be currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
