SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Performs machine setup, operation, and first article inspections on swiss machines:

Tornos Deco 10, EVO Deco Citizen R04, K16 and L20 Tsugami BW129Z, SS32 CNC Programming is a plus Able to troubleshoot maintenance and quality issues on the machine Assists in meeting production schedules Assists in meeting quality requirements Communicates problems and procedural issues Suggests improvements for production and quality Works effectively in a team environment Perform other duties as assigned SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs machine setup and first article inspection Performs required machine maintenance Assists in training other machinists Ensures production priorities are followed Makes management aware of any quality/production problems Uses microscopes, calipers, micrometers, weights, optical comparators and other inspection devices Verifies accuracy and completeness of all paperwork EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum HS diploma, GED or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years in a CNC swiss machining environment Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with all other personnel Ability to follow directions and perform complex duties Good hand and eye coordination Good manual dexterity Good interpersonal skills

To perform a series of machine operations on components to close and exacting tolerances and finish per designated specifications. Troubleshoots and resolves problems related to machined parts. Essential Functions Under general direction with periodic supervision or review performs the following: 1. Sets up Tsugami Machine making required adjustments to tooling, collets, etc. Troubleshoots and resolves various problems related to the set-up and operation of tooling, work holding etc. of an auto loading C N C machine tool. 2. Read and interpret drawings, programs, and other documentation to visualize machining required and sequence of operations. 3. Makes input to C N C consistent with set up procedure. Performs dry run to verify setup prior to production run. Recognizes and reports errors on programming and operations. Collaborates with appropriate personnel in correcting errors. 4. Provides necessary counts, processes documentation correctly, and maintains daily production logs or production worksheets. 5. Utilizes SPC techniques and methods to ensure workflow efficiency. WORK ENVIRONMENT Environmental Surroundings -Work is in a machine shop environment where noise, temperature fluctuations, the repetitive nature of the job, etc. are less desirable than a typical office environment. Unavoidable Hazards -Possible hazards related to cuts, bruises, finger and hand injuries, and muscle strains. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, metalworking fluids, and airborne particles. Appropriate protective wear regarding eye, ear and clothing are required Equipment /Process Responsibilities -Performs duties where significant property, tools, equipment or machines may be damaged, or man-hours lost, through improper daily maintenance and attention to processing. Inputs set-ups and maintains CNC machines for the jobs performed. Performs Total Productive Maintenance as required. Material or Product Responsibilities -Performs duties that require close attention to work and supporting documentations specifications and other requirements. Responsible for accuracy of parts formed. Visually and / or with measuring instruments, checks work performed for proper results. Safety Responsibilities -Good housekeeping, knowledge of good machine safety is necessary as well as adherence to and enforcement of Company Safety Rules.
