Overview

Under the direction of the Operations Director. This position will perform troubleshooting and repair, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation. The position is a technical career position in Ajinomoto Foods, Inc. This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters including a thorough understanding of fluid power, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. The ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of management and operations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and perform preventative maintenance activities on all assigned systems/equipment.

  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records and take regular system readings.

  • Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.

  • Is engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing equipment.

  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.

  • Memorialize Machinery operations, creating SOP's, Training Materials, and PM work orders.

  • Organize and provide basic Automation training sessions to Maintenance and Operations personnel.

  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.

  • Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to Supervisor.

  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.

  • Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tag out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

  • 28 Fahrenheit with the appropriate usage of all required PPE

  • Perform all other work as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years' experience in a Mechanical position in an industrial environment.

  • Training beyond high school including either an Associate Degree in Electronic Technology or closely related technical field preferred, or a combination of education and experience which may include skilled trade programs, military training or other training as applicable

  • Must have a working knowledge of Windows based software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word, and computerized maintenance management system.

  • The ability to read and understand schematics and blue prints

  • Root cause & troubleshooting skills are a must.

  • Must have working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.and lock out tag out processes and procedures

  • Knowledge in the theory and application of electronic devices such as industrial semi conductors, solid state drives, and industrial control systems; experience in the operation of PLC systems and control and data collection instrumentation and transducers

  • Working knowledge and skills in tools and components used in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, clutches belts, and seals; ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems

  • Possession of one or more of the skills is a plus

  • Basic Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) skills necessary to understand the operation and interfacing characteristics of microprocessors; experience in PLC operation to include basic system configuration and hardware, relay equivalent instructions, timers/counters, data manipulation, data communications and advanced programming commands, as well as interfacing, troubleshooting and application and program development; demonstrated skills or training in electronic motor drive technologies including servo- motors, encoders, tachometers, electronic and mechanical brakes and clutches, closed loop systems, DC servo, AC variable frequency, AC servo and stepper systems.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and written; high level critical thinking, and problem-solving Certification: Certifications in any technical field or techniques is a plus

Organize and monitor workflow in ecomm – returns. Communicate information to internal departments and outside contacts as directed. * Investigate inventory control issues and shortages; expedite missing product, run ECA and ECR shortage tasks, communicate to CR and IC on missing inventory. * Prepare process and monitor confirmed shipments. Ensure on-time delivery for all NDA and USPS cartons and complete APO forms when needed. Initiate invoice processing in WM system. Investigate and solve order shipping issues with internal department and ecomm customer care. * Perform routine clerical and administrative tasks such as keeping track of all ecomm return paper work and properly archive all necessary documentation.
