Essential Functions

Our Learn to Swim Program is the heart of our aquatic adventures, and we're looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join us on this exciting journey! As a Swim Lesson Aide, you'll be right in the heart of the action, assisting our Swim Lesson Instructors and becoming a swimming superhero for our participants. If you're ready to be the ultimate sidekick in the pool, this is the job for you!

• Assists the Swim Lesson Instructor with teaching swimming lessons.

• Promotes public relations with facility users by receiving and responding to their questions.

• Performs general maintenance and housekeeping in the aquatic facility.

• Ensures the safety of class participants and provide supplemental supervision to participants at all times.

• Exercises good judgment to ensure a safe environment for participants.

• Discusses with the Swim Lesson Instructor which equipment will be needed prior to class times and be able to use the proper techniques in assisting the Swim Lesson Instructor.

• Attends in-service training as required by the Department.

• Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.

• Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.

• Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work.

Required Skills

• Minimum age 15.

• Must pass the Swim Lesson Aide training from Grapevine Parks and Recreation department.

• Ability to brave the elements including high heat and humidity, for multiple hours with few breaks.

• Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
