What is needed to get started?
You need to be 15 years or older at time of hire.
Graduation from High School or have GED equivalent; or are currently enrolled in High School or equivalent and on track for graduation.
Current Lifeguard Training (ARC, Star Guard)
Be able to swim and have basic knowledge of swimming techniques.
Love working with and around children and able to work as part of a team.
Must be comfortable working in a humid environment.
Is the work schedule flexible?
Yes!
This is a seasonal position for June, July, and August, during which you may be scheduled for up to 40 hours a week.
Rogue X is open 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM, at various times with multiple programs running throughout the day 7-days a week.
Schedules will vary in order to provide services for swim lessons, open swim, aquatic rentals and special events.

Examples of Job Duties
These duties are a representative example; position assignments may vary depending on the business needs of the department and organization. This position:
Conduct swim lesson classes for various ages and skill levels.
Evaluate swim participants at the end of each season.
Lifeguard during open swims, lap swims, aquatic rentals and special events.
Work to prevent injuries and water rescue situations through the enforcement of policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct of guests using the aquatic center.
Follow emergency action plan in the event of an emergency.
Provide emergency care/treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Assist with checking in/out patron's personal items.
Perform hourly pool water chemical tests.
Assist patrons with putting on life jackets.
Attend and participate in all staff trainings and meetings.
Assists in the clean-up of the entire pool facility.
Cautions and educates swimmers against dangerous situations.
Enforce the rules and regulations of the pool and protect misuse and vandalism.
Be proficient with the emergency procedures and department polices at the aquatic center.
Relate to the general public in a positive manner.
Adheres to safety practices and standards when performing all duties.
Upholds the values of the organization and has strong customer service orientation.
Must have the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
Foster an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect.
