Typically, all positions will begin being paid at the beginning of pay range listed above.
Incumbents are responsible for instructing participants at an aquatic facility. Receives direction from higher level aquatics supervisory and management staff.
Typical Class Essential Duties
1.Ensure participant safety and compliance with facility rules.
2.Instruct swim and water safety programs in accordance with American Red Cross standards at an aquatic facility.
3.Provides general customer service and communicates with the public regarding fees, policies, rules and general information about the facility or event.
4.Perform tasks involved in the general operation of an aquatic facility, including physical tasks which involve moving various pieces of equipment; perform basic mechanical tasks.
5.Enforces facility and public health rules and regulations. Cleans aquatic facilities; performs and records chemical tests; turns fountains and related water features off and on.
6.Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
7.Maintain appropriate records associated with an aquatic facility.
8.Follow all City safety procedures. Reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor.
9.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Training, Experience & Certifications

No previous training or experience required.
Must be at least 15 years of age.
Licensing and Certification Requirements
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
If no current certifications, completion of the City's internal certification program for First Aid, CPR and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor will be required.

Incumbents may be subject to dusts, odors, chemicals, and extreme climate/weather conditions.
