Swim Coach

The Orem Recreation Department is currently hiring for swim coaches. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with both year-round and summer work available, rotating between the outdoor SCERA Park Pools and the indoor Orem Family Fitness Center.

Coaches may coach the Jump Into Summer Rec program and/or the Recreation Swim Team. This position will be responsible for instructing and coaching children ages 6-18 in the four competitive swim strokes; setting up and taking down equipment such as lane lines, diving blocks, timing equipment, flags, etc; and running swim meets.Must possess and maintain the Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire (possession of WSI certification covers this requirement). Prefer possession of a Swim Instructor certification and/or Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification. Requires knowledge of competitive swimming and the teaching of those skills to children.

Ability to deal politely and efficiently with the public. Ability to run an effective swim meet. Applicant must be in compliance with Recreation Department Dress, Personal Appearnace and Tatto Policy. The hired candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation.$15.00 per hour
