Position Summary

This role works with the CEO and other members of senior leadership to advance our go-to-market strategy and accelerate monetization of Arrays, Pharma CDx Partnerships, Population Genomics, Service and Support, and Lab Services.

This role requires the senior executive to enable our transition from deep functional alignment to a new business unit organizational model. Success will require strong interface with the development and launch of services products, while enabling conversion rates and utilization. They will help create and execute key strategies that move the company forward with great effectiveness in a complex and dynamic external landscape.

This role requires an individual that is a dynamic, rigorous, collaborative executive who works well as part of a team and has the executive courage to make difficult recommendations and/or decisions. They enable superior finance stewardship and has a business partner mindset, authentic leadership, and impactful communication and influence skills.

The Global Head of Services, Arrays and Genomics Access will be a strategic business partner to the CEO, executive team and will play a key role to improve our topline and operational performance. They are a strategic partner in building our strategy through 2027 with focus on augmenting the customer experience.

Desired Outcomes:

  • Accelerate monetization of business segments, realizing untapped revenue opportunities in Arrays, Pharma CDx Partnerships, Population Gen, and advancing Services and Support, including Illumina Labs services as a key enabler.

  • Materially improve our topline and operational performance starting with delivering and outperforming expectations for 2024 and 2025.

  • Build organizations to enable delivery on the 2027 strategic plan including lead to win in a maturing and increasingly competitive environment, enabling innovation and funding long term growth.

  • Drive further margin expansion, including through digitalization, process improvement and simplification initiatives.

Ideal Experience

  • Seasoned Leader: 15+ years in roles with P&L responsibility, including top level responsibilities. Significant, public company experience required. Business transformation leadership experience preferred.

  • Industry Focus: Experience in the technology, medical device, pharma or healthcare sector is preferred.

  • Operational Experience: Hands-on experience working closely with the operations of a complex, global business.

  • Global Experience: Experienced in a global business; brings an international mindset and the ability to operate effectively and credibly across cultures and markets.

  • Education and Credentials: Strong academic credentials, including a university degree in a relevant field. Advanced degree (i.e., MBA or equivalent) desirable.

  • Creating detailed plans that address specific market segments and opportunities.

The estimated base salary range for the SVP, Services, Arrays, and Genomics Access role based in the United States of America is: $322,300 - $483,500. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
