Position Summary: The SVP, Sales (SVP-S) oversees and manages the inside and outside sales teams and works closely with executive leadership to achieve the company's growth goals. The SVP-S is an active member of the senior leadership team and contributes to the development of the organization's vision, strategy and direction, and regulatory compliance. The SVP-S leads a geographically distributed sales team and is responsible for linking the company's long-range vision and strategic direction with practical tactical sales execution that results in superior new client and revenue growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must demonstrate superior presentation skills and executive presence associated with formally representing TBC at quarterly board meetings and Triumph enterprise meetings; works closely with the senior leadership team to collaboratively set and manage agendas and provide required reporting data.

  • Develop, implement and manage the company's sales strategy, compensation models, growth/production methodologies. Regularly analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies, tactics, costs and results, with a primary focus on taking market share from competitors within an increasingly competitive market.

  • Establish, implement and manage short-range and long-range sales goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

  • Serve as the internal sales champion who drives data-driven sales methodologies and sales tracking/CRM tools, ensuring the adoption and utilization by all salespeople.

  • Personally manage the acquisition of major clients and coordinate/ensure the effective management of these accounts, post-closure.

  • Collaborate with other company divisions and their senior executives that are essential to the success of adding new clients, including but not limited to, underwriting and operations.

  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets for a team of 30 sales professionals (inside and outside).

  • Represent the company at various public events and business meetings to promote the company and build rapport with existing and potential clients.

  • Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.

  • Work with department managers and executive leadership to develop three and five year sales plans for the company; contribute to the company's strategic plan development.

  • Exhibit senior executive leadership presence, poise and management skills, including but not limited to the ability to effectively delegate, groom and develop other leaders, predict market and industry trends specific to their professional domain(s), and inspire the employees under their leadership.

  • Contributes in the development of managerial reporting and control systems for operations.

  • Gathers data; prepares and presents information in relation to the operational components of the company's strategic plan(s) to senior leadership and as requested, the board of directors.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

In addition to the previously stated elements, the ideal candidate for SVP-S will also possess executive strengths and proven capabilities within the areas of corporate strategy, long-term vision, process improvement and business development. Specific requirements for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, or Business is required. A Master's in Business Administration degree is highly desirable.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the sales and marketing sector and a successful personal sales record.

  • Proven leadership experience and management of a geographically distributed sales team.

  • Knowledge of the transportation and/or logistics factoring industry is highly desired.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of proven sales leadership experience is preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to understand, manage and communicate complex financial constructs.

  • Team leader with a strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Demonstrates considerable tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to build/maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  • High level of maturity and stability with an "optimistic" approach.

  • Self-directed and a self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and hands-on experience with ability to plan and manage enterprise sales goals and objectives.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Travel expectations: up to 75%
