Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, Main Street Renewal

Role Overview

With more than 45,000 homes in over 30 markets, Main Street Renewal (MSR) is one of the largest providers of single-family rental homes across the country. We have a robust and unique supply chain focused on ensuring our workforce, vendors, and materials are available across our dispersed footprint just in time for renovations and maintenance needs. We manage vendor and material spend across all categories of home renovation from HVAC and plumbing to landscaping and pool care, just to name a few.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President of Supply Chain to lead our supply chain operations and strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process, from sourcing vendor and materials to ensuring those vendors and materials are available at the job site. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and operational excellence to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, maintain quality standards, and ensure timely delivery of materials and availability of vendors.

Primary teams within the MSR supply chain organization include:

  • Vendor management: The vendor management team is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and managing a team of 2,000+ vendors that support the renovation and ongoing maintenance of our assets.

  • Procurement: Oversee $130mm of spend across vendors and materials while ensuring capture of key contract terms including rebate and warranty capture.

  • Fleet management: Manage a 400+ vehicle fleet with a focus on minimizing vehicle downtime and shortages while upholding driver safety standards.

  • Field facility management: Oversee the facility strategy across 25 field facilities in 15 states with an eye for maintaining the optimal facility footprint as it maintains to location, SFT, and use of space across office and warehouse.

  • Inventory management: Support the development and growth of MSR's first inventory management solution.

Key responsibilities for the SVP of Supply Chain will include:

  • Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy aligned with company goals and objectives, developing business cases and gaining executive buy-in as needed.

  • Lead a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Analyze spend across all categories and trades; identifying trends to address and opportunities to take costs out of the business.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both trade vendors and material suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.

  • Ensure we are actively managing all terms of our contracts across pricing, SLAs, rebates and warranty capture.

  • Identify opportunities to move further up the value chain for raw materials and vendor relationships.

  • Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of materials.

  • Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet field demand while minimizing carrying costs and stock-outs.

  • Develop fleet and facility strategy to support our field operations and oversee execution.

  • Implement best practices and processes to streamline operations and improve supply chain efficiency.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as initial renovation, property management, and finance to ensure alignment and integration of supply chain processes with overall business objectives.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting supply chain management for homebuilding and home renovation.

  • Own supply chain related technology and data strategy by working closely with Tech Product Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven experience 15+ years in supply chain management or a similar role, with a track record of successfully leading supply chain initiatives.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills.

  • Deep understanding of procurement, logistics, and inventory management practices.

  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems. Experience with Salesforce Field Service Lightening considered a plus.
