Organizational Reporting:

We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Lending to join our organization. As the SVP of Lending at Nusenda Credit Union, you will be responsible for the oversight and development of the Consumer Direct Lending, Indirect Lending, and Member Solutions (collections) Departments. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, with a dotted line to the Chief Credit Officer, you will oversee the VP of Consumer Lending, VP of Indirect Lending, and VP of Member Solutions with a focus on performance management of these teams, operational effectiveness, and scaling of services to support the organization's growth.. This role does not oversee Mortgage or Commercial Lending departments and teams.

Role Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain loan accounts delinquency control, compliance, and reporting to regulatory agencies as required.

  • Manage lending oversight, loan underwriting and support areas for consumer lending to ensure that all lending and collection activities conform to all regulatory, legal, and internal policies.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall strategic plan to deliver best-in-class service in these areas of oversight.

  • Recommend strategies to improve the lending and collection experience, while maintaining meaningful risk analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders on prioritization of initiatives, oversee the development and integration of assigned programs and projects, and assist in prioritizing actions of the greatest value to positioning Nusenda for the future.

  • Serve as part of the senior leadership team, supporting our culture and values, while contributing to the attainment of organizational goals.

Key Skills and Experience:

To thrive in this role, you should have eight to ten years of similar or related experience and a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field. This position requires advanced experience in collections, consumer lending and indirect lending functions with a focus on leading teams and providing strategic direction. This might be the role for you if enjoy work requiring critical thinking, collaboration, business perspective and have worked at an institution with an asset size of $500 million or more.

  • Must have ability to manage multiple business units as well as have an in-depth understanding of consumer loan products, services, and the regulatory environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of collections regulations, practices, and policies.

  • Experience generating recommendations that drive both immediate and long-term results.

  • Exceptional proficiency in portfolio analysis and interpretation using data from consumer loan origination systems to identify trends and adjust lending strategies based on market dynamics.

  • Experience analyzing and compiling data to prepare reporting on efficiency metrics, departmental performance, competitive positioning, and technical utilization.

  • Experience working directly with legal counsel on lending function and collections activities.

  • Ability to ensure lending practices align with legal and regulatory standards while developing strategies to manage credit risk and optimize loan portfolios.

  • Experience in consumer loan originations systems (MeridianLink experience preferred).

  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, deal with sensitive information, and handle problem resolution.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to work with multiple levels of the organization.

  • Strong performance management and leadership skills to provide advisory services to external departments and manage direct reporting staff effectively.

  • Development, performance management, training, and employee counseling skills essential.

  • Must have in-depth understanding of and ability to manage multiple business units and generate both immediate and long-term results.

  • Experienced in MS Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and all internal systems affiliated with the department.

  • Effective leadership skills, including the capacity to serve as a role model, and represent the organization in the community to support the achievement of Credit Union goals and objectives.

  • Strategic planning skills and the ability to contribute to the formulation of a long-range vision for the Credit Union.
