GENERAL SUMMARY

Following established policies and department procedures, manages and develops all aspects of the SBA and Business Banking Department with primary focus on business development and compliance with SBA regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manages to reach the department's annual production goal.

• Participates in community activities to improve CRA rating.

• Ensures all Loan Officers and Assistants provide quality service to clients and co-workers from other departments to build up their confidence in SBA lending and Business Banking products.

• Solicits and generates new business.

• Maintains existing business relationships.

• Acts as a professional banker and negotiates with clients properly, to maximize profitability and enhance the image of the bank, SBA, and Business Banking.

• Makes sound decisions.

• Ensures loans comply with USSBA SOP 50 10 and SOP 50 50, and the bank's lending guidelines, policy, and procedures, to minimize any violations.

• Prepares accurate and complete SBA GP, CLP, and PLP loan submission packages.

• Ensures loan closing is in a timely and accurate manner.

• Strengthens internal control and minimizes loan loss.

• Underwrites loans, when necessary, with full understanding of client's financial background, management history, and eligibility.

• Develops plans to improve production, overall efficiency, and effectiveness of the department.

• Develops the skills of Loan Officers and Assistants through a combination of goal setting, training, counseling, delegation, and performance management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: College degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Banking, SBA 7(a) and 504 loans with at least 2 years of experience in a managerial role.

• Skills/Ability: PC proficient (T-Soft, Word, Excel) and detail oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (English/ Mandarin or Cantonese) is a plus. Strong analytical and leadership skills. Thorough knowledge of Business Banking, SBA 7(a) and 504 loans and application state and federal laws/regulations.

OTHER DETAILS

$195K - $250K / year

Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
