ResponsibilitiesThe Position

The SVP, Chief Technology Officer, Mortgage Services plans and implements strategic and tactical technology solutions that support Arch Global Mortgage Group's business strategy. This person oversees MI platform strategy, system development as well as both platform and corporate computing infrastructure. They shall be the primary individual responsible for maintaining, enhancing and securing value of Arch Global Mortgage's MI Platforms for business growth and operations. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-location matrixed IT workforce of 25 plus full time employees and contractors

  • Support Mortgage segment business units around the world in regions such as Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland and the United States as well as expansion into additional regions

  • Work closely with Mortgage strategy group to ensure appropriate technology platforms are evaluated and selected for new ventures

  • Adopt and implement Corporate IT technology and Security standards and guidelines to maintain necessary controls, oversight, and documentation of processes and procedures

  • Drive key technology initiatives in support of the achievement of business goals, while ensuring stable and predictable day-to-day IT operations

  • Leverage and partner with the Corporate IT (Data Center and Infrastructure Services) to deliver business systems

  • Work with Managed Service providers for Cloud infrastructure support and maintenance (AWS and Azure)

  • Meet with key stakeholders regularly to ensure business needs and emerging trends are planned for and met

  • Direct the maintenance of the IT infrastructure and develop plans to evolve infrastructure in a manner consistent with business strategy

  • Utilize understanding of relevant technologies and awareness to broad trends within mortgage insurance industry to identify opportunities for improving effectiveness and efficiency in the Arch MI platform that deliver optimal customer value and service to customers

  • Oversee relationships with key vendors, evaluating new providers as needed

  • Chair the IT Steering Committee responsible for planning, funding, and reporting on strategic initiatives

  • Measure IT performance and regularly report on all dimensions at IT Governance Committee

  • Responsible for the development and annual maintenance of a firm-wide annual IT Strategy utilizing roadmaps and business plans

  • Lead resolution of complex issues in response to major outages and incidents while restoring service rapidly

  • Retain and motivate staff to accomplish results through training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition

Qualifications

  • Substantial breadth of knowledge of the information technology/systems field

  • Experience working with cloud based platforms and technologies (AWS and Azure)

  • Strong technology and software architecture background and experience

  • Well versed in Agile methodologies and DevOps

  • Strong understanding modern methods of ITSM and SDLC

  • Satisfactory understanding of the business

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate large IT function

  • Effective collaboration skills across multiple disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million dollar IT platform

  • Good negotiation skills to effectively reach agreement with vendors and internal counterparts

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in science or technology or related field
  • 15+ years' of relevant, progressive experience
  • 7-10 years' of management experience in similar roles required

These positions are responsible for rendering Final agency decisions on Social Services appeals (i.e., Medicaid, Food & Nutrition Services, Work First, DayCare, Special Assistance, Energy Assistance, Adoption Assistance, etc.) when a State Hearing Officer's tentative decision is contested in accordance with NCGS 108A-79. The Final decision rendered cannot be altered by any supervising authority and sets forth the final agency position on contested issues. These positions impose an immense responsibility to render accurate decisions since the consequence of error is multitudinous. These positions involve supervising Hearing Officers to ensure hearings are conducted consistently, in compliance with due process standards, and that the decisions rendered are defensible. These positions are also responsible for interpreting program regulations, implementing procedures, maintaining work standards, assigning hearing caseloads, and recruiting, orienting, and training staff members.
