This Program Manager will be responsible for managing sustaining activities in Product Engineering and our Factory Quality Organization. Support sites include factories and repair centers that build and repair Microsoft Surface and XBOX. This role includes a mix of hands-on project management, engineering problem solving, and business case analysis to support quality and cost driven improvements. The individual will interface across international manufacturing, repair centers, and internal departments. Managing a flexible work schedule is a must.

As a Sustaining PM, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvements through the product lifetime. You will work directly with the product development teams and supply chain organization. Collaboration, engineering, analytical, and problem resolution are critical to individual and program success.

The ideal candidate will have experience effectively presenting to management, developing tools to facilitate communication, have manufacturing experience and a drive to deliver a high quality, high yielding hardware product at the right cost. Strong program management skills, excellent written and oral communication, experience handling multiple work streams, and a history of influencing products are attributes of the right individual.

Required qualifications -

  • 6+ years experience with program management

  • BS Degree in Engineering Discipline

Desired Qualifications -

  • Experience with Fault Isolation/Fault Analysis methodology

  • An understanding of a manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with MS business applications and any ERP systems

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio).

  • Effective program coordination skills and the ability to implement and monitor basic projects and plans.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to express technical concepts in verbal and written forms.

  • Experience working in high ambiguity situations

  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and self driven

Responsibilities will include:

  • Program manage sustaining component, test, process and design qualifications from identification to implementation

  • Analysis of performance metrics for manufacturing

  • ROI analysis to determine the feasibility of projects

  • Document development to instruct the manufacturing and repair sites how to perform key and critical processes

  • Familiarity with BOM update and change review processes

  • Work with global teams and assist in the compilation of status updates

  • Coordination of meetings with technical staff at manufacturing and repair sites and maintain action item logs resulting from the meetings and the follow up of those action items

  • Assist in managing worldwide engineering and quality initiatives and projects.

  • Track and report out project status

Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to acoustics, physics, or equivalent work experience. * 6+ years of experience as a technical program manager or equivalent experience in research, software development, or hardware development. * Experience building and managing relationships with hardware vendors and other external partners, including creating statements of work and negotiating purchase agreements. * Experience understanding and communicating technical information to non-experts. * Experience building, coordinating, and maintaining schedules across multiple teams, managing shared resources, and coordinating with a legal team on IP or similar issues. * Organizational and planning experience. * Interpersonal experience with experience motivating and resolving conflicts. * Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams. * Track record of transitioning immature or emerging technologies into consumer products. Preferred Qualifications * Graduate degree in a technical field such as acoustics. * Experience managing audio engineering projects and rapid prototyping projects. * Experience in research, incubation, or startups - especially in audio related areas. * Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, optical engineers, and software engineer.
