We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer II- New Product Introduction (NPI)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will assist with leading innovation for high manufacturing processes aligned with emerging advanced manufacturing industry trends and leverage Cobham's Lean Six Sigma methodology framework to improve quality, reduce cost, improve lead time and increase efficiency.
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer works closely with various functional Cobham teams to successfully integrate new products into the Manufacturing environment.
The NPI Engineer works closely with the Bids and Proposals Group to ensure customer specified quotation requirements are reviewed, quotations are developed in time and include risks and opportunities for greater GM realization.
The NPI Engineer works closely with the Product Development engineers to improve Design for Excellence (DFx), Design for Assembly/Manufacturing and ensure high quality and high yield production in the factory.
Participates in design reviews and prototype builds with full engagement and manufacturing technical support, to assess and provide support to the team for DFx input, manufacturing process development and escalate issues as necessary.
Recommends corrective actions and implements changes for new Product Introduction manufacturing support plan. Identifies and mitigates risks; develops and implements risk mitigation plans.
Drive Cobham Lean Six Sigma approach by implementing Lean processes during the NPI phase.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a combination of an Associate's Degree in Engineering and 3+ years work experience in the engineering.
2+ of experience in Microsoft Office including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Engineering Degree in either Mechanical, Electrical or Metallurgy a plus.
Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions; communicate across organizational levels; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers and the general public; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities.
Math & Analytical skills: advanced mathematical skills, including statistical analysis; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements.
Time Management and Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information.
