Sustaining Engineer - Electro-Optics

As a Sustaining Engineer you will provide Engineering support to existing product lines, working closely with our Production teams and supplier base. You will also conduct failure analyses and develop/implement product improvements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Support sustaining engineering efforts, in conjunction with Quality and Production groups, by the timely disposition of non-conforming material and resolve predictability issues with internal and external manufacturing partners
Address field complaints by determining root cause and implement corrective actions under guidance of senior staff.
Fabricate prototypes with assistance from production groups
Work with internal and external manufacturing partners to ensure manufacturable designs (DFM/DFA)
Document design changes by creating and or modifying solid models, assemblies and drawings with Pro/Engineer
Develop internal design validation test programs, perform testing as needed and document results
Assist in updating DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans for process/design changes on existing product
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
Minimum 2 years experience in 3D modeling and 2D detailing (CAD) experience
Experience with UL standards and test requirements
Experince designing for plastics, injection molded parts, stamped metals.
