GENERAL PURPOSE

The Sustainability Analyst will conduct activities that progresses the objectives of the Sustainability and Stewardship department. Responsible for collecting, analyzing, developing, and maintaining information to support the Sustainability tools and objectives. Serves as a liaison between sustainability, product stewardship, product development, product management, and external supply chain to administer activities related to corporate sustainability and compliance programs. Assignments focus on effectively assessing sustainability metrics to improve the environmental impact of the MillerKnoll organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Creates workflows and documents standard work processes related to product sustainability metrics and Compliance Map with accuracy and effectiveness.

• Functions as a power user of key sustainability databases (Compliance Map, CMAP) and tools; ensures data is managed and maintained accurately and consistently across multiple tools.

• Onboard suppliers and internal MillerKnoll users to navigate and upload data to key sustainability database programs (CMAP).

• Executes compliance campaigns for low to medium-complexity products, collects, analyzes, and synthesizing data collected from the supply chain to review technical reports and compliance declarations.

• Conducts final analysis and summarizes identified compliance risks with sustainability regulations, standards, and certifications.

• Prepare detailed and thorough analyses and research related to strategic sustainability initiatives to assist with reporting requirements, and monitor achievements and performance to plan, such as single-use plastics and carbon emissions reductions.

• Track invoices, monitor payment status, and maintain detailed records for budget planning purposes.

• Communicates professionally with internal and external customers in support of department objectives and activities.

• Coordinate and assist with special projects as needed.

• Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field OR technical/vocational associate's degree (such as in Mathematics or Science) OR 3-5 years previous clerical experience in a technical field.

Skills and Abilities

• Proven ability to follow-up and perform with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools currently being used in the HMI office environment.

• Demonstrated ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

• Strong time management, multitasking and process management skills.

• Customer service focused.

• Demonstrated ability to follow documented processes.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information effectively to people with various levels of technical knowledge.

• Good technical writing skills.

• Experience writing and reviewing formal technical reports preferred.
