Sustainability Programs

Job Summary

Assist with the development, planning, communication, implementation, and assessment of sustainability programming for Georgia Southern University. Work with the Office Leadership and Community Engagement to oversee operations of existing programs and develop new programs as needed to further sustainability education and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee Sustain Southern Program, including Eagles 4 Sustainability student group, the sustainable leadership certificate, Southern Sustainability Week and the Campus Community Garden

  • Coordinate sustainability educational programming to students, staff, faculty, and greater community

  • Create and maintain events, programming budget, spreadsheets, programs, production timelines, and checklists for programming

  • Direct marketing and communication associated with sustainability educational programming and help support the Sustainability Project Fee process

  • Coordinate the assessment of programming as it supports departmental, divisional, and university goals

  • Teach leadership courses within the office¿s co-curricular leadership program (as needed)

  • Supervise at least one (1) Graduate Assistant, and undergraduate students that support sustainability programming

  • Represent the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement as well as the University at recruiting events, open houses, and when contacting other departments and outside organizations

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • One (1) or more years of related work experience which could include professional work experience, graduate assistantship experience, and/or appropriate collegiate experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education

  • Master's Degree

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with the development and assessment of sustainability programs

  • Experience in program management and efficiencies

  • Teaching experience

Proposed Salary

$20.71 - $21.63 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a bi-weekly basis.
