Survey Party Chief

Description:

Actalent is currently seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our Mechanicsville, VA office. We are looking for someone who will oversee day to day Field Crew operations, oversee & train individuals to operate total station, level, GPS & data collectors, establish & set point on house stake out & construction stakeout projects (curb & gutter, drop inlets, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, structures, etc.), conduct daily maintenance & up-keep of instruments, provide clear and concise field notes including sketches, and ability to work as a single crew with robot or as a party chief.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED

Minimum two years of experience as a party chief

Trimble Robotic & TDS software

Valid Driver's license (with good driving record)

Ability to collect field data in an organized, neat & professional manner for various boundary, topographic, design & construction staking projects

PLS/SI preferred but not required

AutoCAD and GPS experience a plus

Must be able to carry up to 50 lb. of equipment over all types of terrain (All-weather year-round outdoor work environment with seasonal extreme heat index and wind-chill factors. Other physical attributes of the job include: hiking, climbing & vegetation management such as chopping, cutting, hammering, sawing, etc.)
