Position Description The Survey Technician is responsible for the project's CAD quality, technical, and schedule success by using AutoCAD software to provide support to surveyors by performing a variety of design/drafting activities, including routine construction layouts, detail topographic drawings, sketches and diagrams. Duties & Responsibilities Process field crew survey data Create stakeout data for construction layout Maintain project point database files Prepare base survey mapping Conduct field trips to clarify/verify survey data or assist field staff Produce drawings using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software Analyze sketches, notes, and/or verbal information supplied by an office/field surveyor, technician, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments Revise and/or modify drawings as necessary Plot, organize and assemble project related documents Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematical formulas, and other physical sciences to complete drawings Adhere to Company standards and methodologies Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics (see Key Performance Indicator document) All other duties as assigned Qualifications Associates degree in drafting/design and/or equivalent combination of education & experience Minimum two (2) years applicable experience Must be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D Working knowledge of MS Office Proficient in Excel and able to Integrate Excel with AutoCAD and/or GIS as needed Strong understanding of how to coordinate drawings between disciplines and ability to identify drawing conflicts between the disciplines Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to the corporate office as well as local clients and project sites Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel Resourceful, action-oriented, creative, and analytical thinker Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively Strong planning, organization, preparation, and execution capabilities Open to new ideas, innovation, and change Strong problem solving/analytical skills Ability to adapt to change Work Environment and Physical Demands Office setting Regularly required to sit Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 20 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus Category Industrial Engineering Function Engineering Req ID JN -082023-120396
