Fred Smith Company is currently seeking to fill a Survey Instrument Person/Rodman position. The instrument person will perform various general construction tasks related to survey activities utilizing small tools.
Prior construction experience is preferred. Preference will be given to those who have worked in an outdoor environment. Applicants must have reliable transportation and will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Some of the basic duties include: using basic math skills, ability to lift 80lbs, ability to work in all weather conditions, use good hand writing skills, cut brush and trees with bush axe, use 4lb and 8lb hammer to place wood stakes in the ground, ability to work as a team and follow instructions from survey crew chief, ability to communicate effectively (hear, comprehend and speak) to safely perform work, and must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock and loose soft soils.
