Region Survey Coordinator: This position is responsible for duties related to the oversight and analysis of data collected by WisDOT and consultant survey crews within assigned counties within Southwest Region. Duties include:

  • Scheduling work assignments, instructing, assisting and reviewing the work of the WisDOT and consultant survey data gathering crews.

  • Ensuring the data supplied is gathered in accordance with WisDOTs Survey Data Management System (SDMS), standards and specifications.

  • Computing, adjusting and assembling engineering data for use by design, construction, and right of way project leaders.

  • Establish and negotiate work orders for consultant resources surveys.

Region Plat Coordinator: This position is responsible for the design, direction, coordination, delegation of work assignments, research, training and reviewing right-of-way activities of staff engineers and consultants within assigned counties within Southwest Region. Duties include:

  • Development of Right-of-Way plats for highway improvement projects.

  • Serves as the Region resource regarding plat development.

Special Notes:

  • The Senior level position is in pay schedule 14-14. Starting salary is between $49,920 and $54,080 depending upon qualifications plus excellent benefits. The Advanced level position is in pay schedule 14-13. Starting salary is between $58,448 and $64,480 depending upon qualifications plus excellent benefit

  • WisDOT does not sponsor work visas.

Qualifications:

Minimally qualified applicants at the Senior level will have coursework/training or experience with the following:

Interpreting Plats and Certified Survey Maps (CSM).

Principles and or practices of land surveying.

Computer software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, M.S. Office, Project Management Software or comparable software.

Use of Trimble RTK Global Positioning System (GPS) or comparable GPS platforms.

In addition to the qualifications above, qualified candidates at the Advanced level will have the following:

Must currently hold a Wisconsin Professional Surveyor License (PLS).

At least two years of experience working with computer software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, M.S. Office, Project Management Software or comparable software.

At least two years of experience with the use of Trimble RTK Global Positioning Systems (GPS) or comparable GPS platforms.

Experience interpreting and preparing legal descriptions.

VIEW JOBS 10/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-10T00:00 Under the general supervision of the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) Director of Human Resources, this position performs paraprofessional support work of considerable difficulty in the WSLH Human Resources Office related to personnel, payroll and benefits, employee training, and other human resource functions. The WSLH is a diversified organizational and occupational facility employing approximately 350 Faculty, academic and classified staff, and approximately 50 student and TE employees. This position coordinates and performs a wide variety of program activities in a large centralized human resource office. Major duties will include the facilitation of recruitment of both Faculty, Limited, Academic and University staff,, graduate assistants, students and TEs, assist with developing new policies and procedures and organizational initiatives in support of the Strategic Plan and Mission of the WSLH, serve as the back-up to the Director of Human Resources, back-up and assist with payroll and benefits responsibilities, and as requested, conduct special projects required for ongoing quality improvement of the HR Office. This position requires a person with excellent administrative, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills who can assist with the planning and implementation of Human Resources office projects. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer-based resources is essential. Teamwork with other staff, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential in this position. The person in this position is expected to use the tools and principles of quality management in performing their daily work including: demonstrate exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with managers, supervisor, coworkers, and customers. Use effective team skills to contribute to the efficient operation of the work unit. Present ideas, carry out assignments, and provide information as required, use data collection tools as appropriate. Provide and receive constructive feedback for the purpose of continuous improvement in a manner that is supportive of the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene and its mission.
