Dewberry is seeking is a Survey Tech to join our Baltimore, Maryland office. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey and mapping division assisting in a variety of projects. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in their work and also understands budgets and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining CAD/GIS models, surveying drawings and maps. Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics. May recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification. Produce complex technical drawings. Prepare working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed finished product. Coordinate CAD projects with other team members. Process survey data and produce CADD deliverables. Process survey control data for boundary locations. Property research and production of deed mosaics. Develop base mapping from processed data. Draft Existing Conditions Plans. Compute for construction stakeout, boundaries and easements. Prepare field packages to expedite field surveys. Process field data to prepare grade sheets.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equvalent required, AAS or BS Degree in Surveying or Autocad preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience with Autocad.

  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Trimble TBC, Leica Cloudworx, Cyclone and Carlson Civil Suite preferred.

  • Knowledge of 3-D Modeling a plus.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs, particularly Word, Excel and Access.

  • Able to take on and manage multiple jobs/tasks simultaneously.

  • Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.

  • Strong interest in all phases of Surveying including Record Plats, Easements, ALTA Surveys, Topographic Surveys, etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.

  • A strong general computer knowledge is a plus.

  • High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.

  • Must be able to work overtime as required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in order to operate company vehicle

  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening

  • Must be dependable

Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Field Survey Crew Chief in Owings Mills, Maryland. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail oriented individual interested in joining our Land Surveying department as a Crew Chief to serve our Mid-Atlantic territory. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment and supervise other members on the survey crew. Applicant must have extensive experience performing boundary, ALTA, topographic, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology. The position has opportunity for advancement for a motivated individual willing to grow with the changing skills and technology required of a crew leader. Responsibilities * Daily coordination with field coordinator, project managers and other office staff. * Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations. * Supervise all members of the survey crew. * Work independently as a one person crew as required. * Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors. * Daily care and charging of survey instrumentation. * Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology and equipment. Required Skills & Required Experience * Minimum of five years of diverse survey experience required. * Must have a High School Diploma (Minimum). * Must have strong supervisory skills. * Must be able to follow directions and assure all procedures and policies are followed. * Must have good mathematical skills. * Must have good computer and data collector skills. * Must be proficient with the use of Trimble survey equipment. (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors). * Must be proficient with Trimble Survey Controller and Trimble Access data collection software. * Must have good communication and organizational skills. * Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check. * Must pass a drug test. * Must be dependable. * Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions and terrain. * Ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition the ability to stand for long periods on varied surfaces. * Must be able to work overtime as required. * At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization. * Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Employer.
