Description
Community Care College seeks a Surgical Technology Site Coordinator to oversee the students during clinical rotations. Will provide quality clinical site evaluations, maintain student rotation paperwork, complete skills checklists, and more. Be a graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program with a current Certified Surgical Technology License. Must have a minimum of three years of field experience as a scrub tech. Associates Degree preferred. Ability to establish and maintain hospital relations.
Site Coordinators must be accessible to students and site coordinators via email, phone, Canvas, or social media as needed. The Coordinator will monitor and track individual student progress and provide direction while on site. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director.

Passion for surgical technology education and instilling surgical conscience in students

This is a full-time day position 6:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday (at the site getting students placed into surgery or at the campus to help teach in class or lab) and Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm (Grand rounds; helping students prepare for their board exams). Full benefits package! Licensed by OBPVS.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain clinical sites. Work closely with Director and Career Services. Working with the students to help with job placement.
Complete clinical evaluation forms
Nurture site relationships through frequent site visits, phone calls, emails, etc.
Stay abreast of current trends in healthcare including HIPPA, OSHA, bloodborne pathogens, and any other affecting Surgical Techs
Complete skills checklist on all students prior to externship
Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
Interact positively with staff, students, faculty, and the public
Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversation on Hospital Sites
Ensure students are scheduled in rotations, with the instructor's input
Offer tutoring assistance when necessary
Assist with preparation of the National Certification exam
Actively participate in meeting placement and retention goals
Utilize and update classroom technologies
Update clinical agreements when necessary
Substitute in the absence of an instructor if needed
Schedule site orientations and/or other necessary arrangements for beginning and continuing the clinical experience. Maintain detailed criteria for each site
Responsible for notifying students of site changes and in the event of absence
Oversee clinical experience, meet with coordinators, instructors, and students regularly-when needed
Attend graduation ceremonies and faculty meetings
Other duties as assigned
Reports to the ST Clinical Director

Education & Experience:
CST license
