The Surgical Technologist, working under the direction of the Nurse manager and the supervision of the circulating nurse and the surgeon performs the functions of surgical scrub; scrubs on operative procedurs using aseptic technique; performs pre-operative shave and preparation; provides the care of, proper use of and reassembling of instrumentation. The Surgical Technologist actively promotes behaviors that are consistent with the mission and values of the organization. He/she demonstrates and reinforces CQI principles with unit customers, including patients, families, physicians, nursing and other staff members. The Surgical Technologist supports positive patient, family and staff relationships.
Required Minimum Education:
Specialty/Major:Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):
Required:Certification required within one year of hire, attaining competence in the assigned area.
Current CPR card.
Preferred: Experience in customer service. Computer literacy. Previous experience working in the operating room.
