Sentara Healthcare is hiring a Cardiac Surgical Technologist for the Sentara Heart Hospital that is located on the campus of Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia

• Up to a $15,000 sign on bonus available for qualified candidates!

Shift: Full Time, Rotating Shift

REQUIREMENTS:

• Surgical Technologist Virginia License/Registration REQUIRED
• Surgical Technologist National Certification REQUIRED
• Completion of Surgical Technologist program REQUIRED

Department Overview:

Sentara Heart Hospital is the region's first and only dedicated heart hospital. This exceptional facility carries on Sentara Norfolk General's tradition for cardiac excellence by consistently ranking among the nation's top 50 heart programs in the U.S. News & World Report's annual hospital rankings.

The cardiothoracic operating room is part of the surgical services team that treat open-heart (cardiothoracic) patients. We are made up of five operating rooms which includes a hybrid OR. We handle 8+ OR cases daily.

Job Summary

Implements plan of care for specific patient population. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate integrated and comprehensive care in the peri-operative environment.

May substitute training in operating room procedures from military or vocational training program.

Virginia Surgical Techs are required to be Licensed with the VBOM.

Qualifications:

TS - Trade School Graduate: Surgical Technologist (Required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification

• American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Certifications

• National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), Ventricular Assist Device Certification (VAD-C) - Certification

• ICCAC
