Job Summary:

Summary:

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary.

  • Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.

  • Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

One year OR Training or Experience.

Required Education:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

BLS.

Surgical Technologist Certification required for external hires per NJ State Law.

Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.

Summary: Under the direction of the department Director and the Medical Director, Section of Cardiology, the Echocardiographer will perform high quality ultrasound images of the heart as outlined by the International Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories and departmental policies and procedures. Staff will perform 2D echo Doppler studies, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms. Staff will support Virtua Health Policies and Procedures and the Virtua Health Mission and Vision Statement. Position Responsibilities: * Completes 2D echo Doppler studies, edits in digital system, and processes for physician interpretation. * Completes stress echo and dobutamine stress echo studies, edits in digital system, and processes for physician interpretation. * Completes transesophageal echocardiograms with the cardiologist, edits and processes for physician interpretation. Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography experience. Knowledge of Stress Echocardiography and Transesophageal Echocardiography procedures. Required Education: Graduate of accredited echocardiography program. Training/Certifications/Licensure: Echo techs must be credentialed through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one year of hire.
