As a Certified Surgical Technologist Lead, you're a witness to some incredible moments assisting surgeons and peers by monitoring operating rooms for turnover between cases. You ensure the instrument room's daily supply needs as well as anticipate the needs for upcoming scheduled cases. Serving as a mentor and super user, you educate surgical techs on new supplies and monitor for compliance on established and new processes.

Your Everyday

  • Provides primary surgical assistance to the surgeons during the operative procedures.

  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.

  • Use surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their designs and purposes.

  • Assure availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the surgical procedure prior to the case.

  • Understand and practice principles of sterilization, universal precautions, hazardous materials management to process instruments, equipment and supplies through the stages of decontamination.

  • Assist in transporting the patient postoperatively.

  • Stay updated on the latest surgical technology, medical terminology and procedures.

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

  • 2 years of related experience required.

  • Surgical technology diploma

  • American Heart Association BLS Certification
