Position Scope/Summary
The Surgical Technologist Lead works under the direction of the Manager of the operating room in collaboration with the PCC-RN. Surgical Technologist Lead is responsible for assisting with education, orientation, process improvement, product evaluation, onboarding of new physicians, instrument and equipment management, and Preference card management related to their service area, Surgical Technologist lead provides for safety/security of self and others and follows all special precautions as related to patient care.
They maintain a clean/organized perioperative unit. Surgical Technologist lead promotes a positive attitude to staff, families, and patient/guests as well as maintains patient confidentiality. Surgical Technologist lead performs all tasks in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care, meets hospital continuing education and certification requirements, and upholds goals and objectives of the Department of Perioperative Services.
Surgical Technologist lead contributes to organizational effectiveness and demonstrates career growth and development. Surgical Technologist lead works variable rotating shifts as assigned. Call is assigned on a rotating basis.
Minimum Education Required
HS Graduate or Equivalent
Required Qualifications
Must be a high school graduate or possess the GED, and must have completed formal Surgical Technology Training Program or the equivalent. A minimum of 2 years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. CST Certification is required.
