Surgical Technologist

About this Unit Coordinates and performs routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma and surgery procedures according to established standards and practices. Receives and ensures the execution of physicians' orders.

Participates actively in the satisfaction of patients and all customers. Assures equipment is present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift. We provide both inpatient and outpatient medical services throughout Southwest Michigan. Scope of work Maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, making appropriate responses as needed. Is responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures.
