Labor and Delivery
Provide technical services under supervision as a member of the surgery team. Provide direct care to patients of all ages.
Working Relationships: The Surgical Technician is responsible to an immediate supervisor (i.e., RN responsible for the room) and does not supervise any employees.
Is in daily contact with physicians, nurses, patients, co-workers, and managers. Has contact with hospitals and physicians.
For those hired after November 14, 2016, KentuckyOne Health will verify education required by the position, through primary source verification, prior to beginning employment. Education verification will also include the collection of a high school diploma or equivalent, transcript, or other written validation of education.
Requires six to eighteen months of college or trade technical school and completion of course for surgical technicians. CPR update.
On -the-job training, and previous experience as surgical technician and/or national certification is preferred. BCLS certification required.
Language: Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
