Hospital for Special Surgery and Stamford Hospital have entered into a unique collaboration to create the premier center for advanced orthopedics in New England. The alliance is seeking a full-time Surgical Tech

  • Service Specialist to act as a surgical service leader and facilitate the growth and development of staff members.

Incorporate patient safety, interdisciplinary communication, patient satisfaction, and resource utilization to support unit workflow and ensure the highest level of patient care. Major responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Creating and maintaining preference cards.

2.) Ensuring availability and approval of instrumentation, supplies, and implants for all cases.

5.) Acting as an active member of the Value Analysis Team committee meetings.

7.) Attending quality meetings to address pertinent issues.

10.) Precepting new team members, on-boarding new vendors, arranging staff in-service education.

14.) Troubleshooting issues with case booking related to clinical equipment/ supply or implant needs.

16.) Ensuring accurate procedure mnemonics.

Schedule : Monday through Friday, no weekends. 7:00am

  • 3:00pm. Possibility of 4 10 hour shifts (7:00am to 5:00pm) with a variable day off may also be considered.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent.

  • BLS certification required

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in an operating room setting.

  • National certification in appropriate related specialty preferred.
