Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Physician and Registered Nurse, assists in the performance of technical surgical procedures in the operative environment. Sets up the operating room for procedures according to physician preference card and the type of surgical intervention to be performed, the patient's age, developmental and size considerations. Performs selected surgical scrub functions in the operative suite involving patient preparation, as well as preparation of the suite and attendant instruments and supplies. Patient age populations served, and the specific competencies that comprise this job title are found in the Department/Unit Orientation & Initial Assessment of Competency" checklist for this unit/positions, and -by reference- form a part of this job description.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program or Certified Surgical Technologist designation from (AST or NCCT)

  • Must be able to take call shifts as assigned. Not required for MOSS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year experience as a Surgical Technologist

How you will do it * Diagnoses and repairs complex electronic control system malfunction'srequiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems andability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software. * Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineeringcorrections and drawings. * Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.Ensures high levelsof customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar withoperatingproblems. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided outstandingissues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or repairs. What you will do Positionrequirements are to perform a variety of repairs and services in a specializedbuilding system environment with a high emphasis on HVAC and MechanicalSystems. Working knowledge of Electrical / Electronic, Security Systems, BAS, andother similar types of related equipment and systems is a PLUS. How you will do it * Service, Repair, Maintain, Monitor andAdjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters. * Performs a variety of service work forareas such as mechanical, electrical / electronic, security, electroniclocking doors, hydraulics, carpentry, and machine servicing, etc. * Will plan, select, and lay out requiredmaterials for service and repair work. * Complete assigned PreventiveMaintenance tasks. * Uses building prints, schematics andother available documents while troubleshooting system failures and workrequests. * Manages subcontracted work to ensureproper notifications are sent, work is completed in accordance with designedscope of work and ensures all safety requirements are met. * Ability to operate a variety of handtools and machines instrumental to building operations. * Provide detailed information related toprocurement group for new supplies and equipment. * Performs all work in accordance withestablished safety procedures and complies with all company policies. What we look for * Vocational School four year program or an Associatedegree in electronics, mechanical systems, computertechnology, air conditioning or similar field plus three years of industryexperience or five years experience in servicing electronic and/ormechanical systems in the HVAC industry. * Generally requiredknowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. * Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outsidecontacts in an ethical and professional manner. * Ability to explain technical information totechnical and non-technical people. * Leadership skills to support the activities ofMechanics working on non-complex, noncriticalBuilding Automation equipment on a job site. PC experience required and theability to program HVAC related software. * Successful candidatewill undergo and pass background check and security clearances.
