Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Division Director in area of responsibility and clinical leadership of a registered nurse, prepares the surgical suite and patient for surgery and assists the team during the procedure.
As a CST Scrub Tech, at The Orthopedic Hospital of Indiana, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients.
Requirements:
CST certification via NBSTSA and may consider NCCT
If graduated from an accredited surgical technology program or completion of a program provided by the US Armed Forces prior to 7/1/2009, CST certification may not be required.
Current BLS certification via AHA or ARC
Schedule: PRN, M-F days, no holidays, no on call
Location: Warsaw, Indiana
About the Job:
Maintaining the sterile environment of the operating room
Sterilizing the equipment and operating room
Helping with preparing the patient for surgery
Gathering, counting, and arranging the equipment and surgical tools for Sx
Preparing patients for the procedure
Keeping the operating room sterile
Passing surgical tools to the surgeon and the surgeon's assistant
Assisting in retracting tissues from the surgical patient
Counting all of the tools and instruments used during the surgery
Applying dressings to surgical sites
Disposing of needles and gauze

Education/Licensure/Registration/Certification/Experience:
