  • 1.0 FTE is Full-Time any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*

Shift: Shift 1

Summary:

In partnership with unit leadership is responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of the assigned surgical service(s). Participates in decision making and problem solving to assure high quality patient care and surgeon satisfaction. Demonstrates organizing and coordinating skills.

As an advanced practitioner demonstrates superior knowledge and expert practice while actively working in surgical procedures during their scheduled work hours. Serves as a role model. Assists the Surgeon RN and the Anesthesiologist in the care of patients in the Operating Room.

Assists in evaluation and acquisition of surgical equipment instruments and supplies. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Five years Surgical Technologist experience is required.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Completion of an accredited (CAAHEP) Surgical Technologist program is required.

Certification is required for staff moving into the role after 7/1/2020. Staff in the role as of 7/1/2020 are not required to be certified for as long as they continuously remain in the role and meet the criteria in the job description. BLS is required.

Other information:

Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in major operative surgical specialties is required. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy physiology and potential complications for procedures performed is required. Expert knowledge of specialty instruments and equipment is required.

Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical dental and vision benefits* Shift: 1st. Variable start times. No evenings weekends or call. Summary: Provides direct and indirect nursing care by utilizing the nursing process determining the objectives of nursing care within the framework of the physician's plan of medical care the patient's needs standards of nursing practice legal regulations and ambulatory surgery center policies and procedures. He/she will perform other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment efficiency as well as quality of performance. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: A minimum of one to two years in Med/Surg ambulatory surgery PACU or OR nursing is preferred. Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a minimum of two years education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred. Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required upon hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
