A Day in the Life:

The Surgical Sales Representative, GYN isresponsible for exceeding sales quota and managing the assigned territorywithin budget guidelines.

PositionResponsibilities:

  • Manages assigned territory to exceed quota by:

  • Making sales calls to target accounts

  • Selling and servicing the target accounts, preplanning andadapting the sales presentation to the individuals involved

  • Exceeding the standard level of performance in market segment callactivity, target account penetration, evaluations started and evaluationsconcluded

  • Demonstrating effective full line selling

  • Support the execution of all marketing launch plans and newproduct sales objectives.

  • Coordinate and allocate corporate resources within the scope andscale of the sales account plans.

  • Participate in training plans and programs. Manage the trainingfor accounts within area of responsibility. Facilitate education on productadvantages.

  • Facilitate sales process through involvement of otherorganizational resources

  • Maintain a continuing program to improve and upgrade skills toinclude, but not limited to:

  • Product knowledge

  • Competitive knowledge

  • Selling skills

  • PC Skills

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor'sdegree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university

  • A minimum of three years of field sales experience

  • Documented sales success (achievement to quota)

  • Demonstrated formal sales skills training, preferably from aFortune 500 company

Niceto Have: Preferred:

  • Medical sales and/or capital equipment sales experience preferredwith focus on surgeon relationships.

  • Women's Healthcare sales experience a plus.

Carries out a variety of front desk services. Serves as primary staff liaison with all surgery patients. Provides financial planning for patients and ensures that all necessary paperwork is completed. * Registers patients presenting for treatment; enters and updates patients biographical data and insurance information. * Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefits and obtains pre-authorizations, if required. * Tracks status of pending pre-certifications and pre-authorizations, keeping the providers informed of status. * Reviews surgical procedures with doctors to make CPT and ICD coding recommendations. * Utilizes HCPC codes to secure authorization for nutritional supplements, medications, or other items deemed medically necessary for the patient. * Manages the appeal process when an authorization is denied by collaborating with the doctor, writing appeal and/or scheduling a peer-to-peer review. * Informs patient of insurance benefits and explains their financial responsibility as it pertains to their insurance. * Explains operating room procedures to patients as well as pre-admission testing requirements, scheduling appointments and cancellation procedures. * Coordinates and assists in scheduling the operating room for dental procedures performed at affiliated hospitals; serves as the liaison between patients, treating dentists and the hospital staff. * Collaborates with co-surgeon's specialist to ensure that multiple surgical procedures are effectively coordinated and authorized. * Assists in credentialing providers. * Monitors credit balances for resolution by refunds/adjustments to insurance or patient payments.
