Departmental Overview
Norman Regional is excited to offer their patients plastic surgery services provided by a board-certified physician specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery. This small but mighty team will focus on restoring not only physical appearance but also enhance the quality of life for patients. We are looking for a highly motivated individual that will enjoy a diverse role in both the clinic and operating room. This position is a great opportunity to participate in high quality personalized care delivery to each and every patient.
Job Summary
Provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the paitent.
In addition to intraoperative duties, also performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate proper patient care.
The surgical assistant to the surgeon during the operations does so under the direction and supervision of that surgeon and in accordance with hospital policy, laws and regulations.
Assists physician in the plastic surgery clinic and provides support to other disciplines and duties in the arena.
Other duties in the clinic functioning like an Medical Assistant.
Qualifications
Education
Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program (Required).
Completion of an accredited Surgical First Asstant program (Required).
Experience
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Licensure/Certification
Certified by the NBSTSA, in surgical technology and Surgical First Assisting (CSFA) (Required).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment
