We are seeking a Surgical Clinical Monitoring Technologist to:

  • Perform invasive and non-invasive measurements and testing of hemodynamic

  • functions.Complete independent operation of Intraoperative Autotransfusion.

  • Insure that strict quality control and safety standards are maintained at all times.

Education:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Medical Technology, or relevant Clinical Science.

Work Experience:

Preferred

  • One (1) year of previous clinical experience.

One (1) year of previous experience performing relevant anesthesia related analytical or clinical measurement or surgical related monitoring services

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the basic principles and physiology of anesthesia monitoring procedures.

  • Knowledge of strict sterile techniques and safety procedures.

  • Knowledge of quality control standards related to analytical and clinical measurement.

  • Excellent analytical and interpretive abilities.

  • Ability to perform advanced trouble shooting and problem resolution.

  • Ability to work under stress and tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule: 100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Call schedule, holidays, and weekend rotation are required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Education: Minimum - Completion of Surgical Technologist program. Work Experience: Minimum - Clinical experience either through a formal surgical technology program or prior work experience. Preferred - One (1) year of experience as a Surgical Technologist. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - Basic Life Support/CPR at time of hire or obtained within 6 months of hire dependent on the location. Preferred - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Successful completion of the UW Health Surgical Technologist unit-based competencies. * Strong communication skills/guest relations. * Strong skills in use of written and oral language (i.e., grammar, spelling, format, etc.). * Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change. * Demonstrates basic use of computers as appropriate to practice. * Ability to function effectively independently and as a team player. * Excellent organizational/priority setting skill. * Demonstrates knowledge, purpose, and correct dosage of drugs and solutions used on surgical field. * On-call (May be a requirement depending on the position). Call response time of 45 minutes (45 minutes from phone call, dressed in scrubs and reporting to charge nurse) Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Work Schedule: 60% FTE, 24 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are every Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
