The Surgery Scheduler works with patients, physicians, medical facilities, and internal staff to schedule surgical procedures and coordinate pre-operative clearances. This role will work as a NAR (Nursing Assistant, Registered) / HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) providing hands-on patient care as well as performing clerical duties within the department. The scheduler must be able to work independently, possess a strong attention to detail and be able to prioritize workload. Exceptional communication and patient centered care are a priority. Additional responsibilities include inventorying and replenishing office supply levels for the department. Position is cross trained to Perianesthesia (Same Day Surgery) Support Specialist (NAR/HUC) and collaborates with all employees within the organization.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Current Nursing Assistant certification in the State of Minnesota
Strong working knowledge of Windows-based computer systems. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS
Exceptional verbal and written communication skillset. Must be able to communicate with tact and professionalism as well as maintain patient privacy.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred:
One year of recent experience in a hospital, surgery center, or physician's office scheduling surgical, endoscopy, pain, or minor procedures
Proficiency with Excellian/EPIC software
Positive and energetic personality
Prior Hybrent, Telemediq, and TimeStar skillset
Schedule:
This role has the following schedule:
Mon: 8am-4:00pm
Tues: 8am-4:00pm
Wed: 8am-12pm
Thurs: 8am-4:00pm
Fri: 8am-2pm
Total of 64 hours per 2-week pay period and is fully benefits eligible.
