The department of OBGYN is actively seeking a Assist Clinical Physicians with high volume patient practice, handling all patient related calls and following up on physician directed orders and procedures by scheduling and/or obtaining necessary authorizations and assisting with patient needs as it pertains to their care with the department.
Responsible for triaging all patient related calls for physicians assigned and documenting accordingly any pertinent information and instructions given by provider and the consequent actions taken.
Processes and assists with responding to all patient related requests and UChart In-basket messages for assigned pools/providers.
Responsible for physician's schedule to coordinate academic and patient related activities. Monitors clinical schedule for providers to ensure accuracy of number and types of appointments.
Review no shows and cancelled appointments as per department policy.
Follow-up on all results for area of responsibility including but not limited to all lab work, pathology and ancillary testing such as mammograms, ultrasounds, MRIs as directed by providers.
Also follow up on any necessary referrals to specialists, procedures as requested by providers.
Submit requests as needed for any authorizations/referrals for these follow up appointments and procedures.
Responsible for surgical coordination of all physician surgeries according to departmental protocol.
Coordinate and ensure receipt of financial and medical clearance for surgery and other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrates sustained high level of proficiency in all aspects of job
Excellent customer service skills are required.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years of relevant experience including patient telephone and/or face to face contact (or customer service) in a high volume medical office or hospital setting.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
